Part 3: Faces

faces people-305836_1280

The face I thought was just a face

A face, among many in my workplace

That face, when left, for good

Surprisingly, with a heavy heart, I stood

I realised that face could be a good friend

Sadly, this relation, before it started had the end

But after a matter of three weeks

I had a broad smile on my cheeks

The very same face had dropped in to say hello!

To all people who mattered, you know!

The face also enquired about how life was treating us

And shared the new workplace experiences without any fuss

That day I realised I had discovered a new friend

From an acquaintance with whom my relation had almost end.

“There are no strangers here; Only friends you haven’t yet met.” – William Butler Yeats

  1. This was a beautiful piece of work. There was a time when I used to be surrounded by faces and wonder whether they liked me; today I wonder whether I like them. I guess once I started loving my own company what all these faces in the crowd thought mattered very little to me and I stopped feeling lonely. 🙂
