Her baby lay peacefully asleep

On her lap in her loving upkeep.

A mosquito headed towards the little one’s cheek

She knew, her baby’s blood it wanted to seek.

Suddenly, in her, there came a ferocious feature

With a feral snarl, in her hands, she smashed that creature.

Her baby slept absolutely unaware of this event

As she gazed at her little one with immense content!
